About Marielle

Three and a half years ago, driving on I-81 leaving NY State, I began a pilgrimage into my future. The sign by the roadside told me to buckle up. I did.

In midlife, single, nest empty, work not working anymore, and not enough money to retire at any point soon, I had decided to walk away from my life as I knew it.

After a few days driving, I hit the beach in South Florida. I had made it. I felt wonderful for maybe five minutes, when the questions came, and that painful feeling in my stomach telling me that I was kidding myself.

Am I the only woman in this situation?
If there are others, what are they doing to get into their future?
What will become of me?
Who will rescue me?

That was the beginning of almost three years of research, reading, interviews, studying, writing and following my own progress. The knowledge I gained, I share with you in my book: Showing Up For The Golden Years.

In this learning process I realized two things:

1. The best-laid plans will go awry if you don’t control your money
2. Freedom to choose is a birthright

Destiny led me to the Financial Recovery Institute in San Francisco, where I certified as a Financial Recovery(sm) coach.

We are not just a fistful of money. We are not all dreams and emotions either. The magic is in the mix and everybody’s mix is unique. Holism respects us as complete and complex human beings and brings out all that is in us.
